What the architect's tools are for...
When I got my list of supplies that I'd be needing for foundations year, I was quite skeptical when I ran across numerous tools that sounded like they would be used for architecture and other things requiring straight edges and geometry, etc.
I learned a few weeks ago that they are for my 3D class. We were given a Lego block and taught how to draw it properly, to scale, from three different angles (top, front, and right side). For this I used my T-square, 45/90 triangle, and compass and one of those shmancy hard leaded pencils that architects use all the time.
They're lousy pictures, but you get the gist....
